There's a difference between backing the manager and backing the choice. I'm sure the vast majority of people will support our manager even if they don't agree with the appointment.

The question asks if you support the choice, not if you support the manager.

Why?
Lets see how Rickets manages the team. It's his responsibility and like all managers he'll have the last word with both the players and the back room staff.
The responsibility for the way we are going to play and the players we will recruit will be on the new managers shoulders.
I hope for much better football.

Why? Don't you think he's big enough to make his own decisions?
All managers seek advice. Then they make up their own minds.

I haven't logged on to RP for a couple of months because I didn't need the negativity in my life.

When Darlington came in every post I read was about how pleased we were that it had happened. Is he now the fall guy for Keates's failings/lack of loyalty?

Having watched some of crap that was the last few games I think it’s high time Darlington and Davies left and let Ricketts bring in his own back room staff. Who knows if he will make his mind up but if he’s looking for a second opinion off of those two then we are in a world of trouble.

A decent appointment in my opinion. Experienced pro with a good reputation who has played at all the levels of the game. Won promotions as a captain and has been given a chance to show what he can do as a manager.

100% behind him!

I agree, let him bring his own back room staff and let's have fresh input and ideas. For me Davies and Darlington failed at the most important time of the season,so why will things be any different next season if they are still around

Who exactly is this "own back room staff" that people keep mentioning? He hasn't had a previous job to form one, and many are complaining he doesn't have any contacts.

I'm nervously excited about this. Which way will it go? Nobody knows. But can't wait to find out.
