Wedgebury is massively overrated. It’s no coincidence that he has played in nearly every game andour midfield has been overrun in nearly every game. We can’t keep relying on last ditch defending.

He runs around a lot.... that is about it. And dives a lot!!!

What about when he was missing against Ebbsfleet? A bit of a coincidence that our biggest hiding of the season came in that game isn’t it..

He is going to be over run if he doesn't have support around him.

Apart from Manny and Pearson, Wedge has been our best player over the whole season.

Dear me....

Russell Penn was twice the player. We just ended up with the cheaper option.

Exactly this.

He just needs a couple of ball playing midfielders around him.

I can't agree. Has been the stand out player in midfield and works extremely hard. Would love to know how many tackles he's made this season. Probably more than the other midfielders put together ! Kelly is the one that needs to go. No energy -legs gone. No creativity. Sits deep and passes square. Doesn't tackle.

I agree that Kelly needs to be moved on. Wedgebury does work very hard, but he isn’t good enough. He can’t pass, doesn’t read the game particularly well, and let’s the opposition brings the ball into our own box before he lunges in to get the ball back. Carrington does a better job infront of the back four.

Could he do a job at RB?

Like you, I think that he does work hard - he had to last season because the others were so punk - but he isn’t as imposing as some claim, and cannot pass wind.

PS Also disappointed that Wright did not kick on. His poor positional play suggests he also isn’t good enough for central midfield.
