That miss in the second half still gives me nightmares. However, he was there to miss it. He was class in the playoff at Aggborough.

Part of the reason that people who shriek about contracts going to Rutherford or Carrington are full of it; you can only have so many headline grabbers and need a supporting cast of reliable professionals. How good those leading lights really are is more of a big deal than it is with the water carriers.

Thats exactly my point!!

Brett Ormerod was a 'water carrier' the same as Artell and Clarke etc, but he was paid 'leading light' wages. AA made the point he must have been good as we made the PO final with him, so I highlighted the fact we did so with other ordinary players.

I am fine with giving Ruthers a new contract, as are you, but if Ricketts claimed we had 'pushed the boat out' to sign him, we'd both change our tune.
