Kerry is doing a great job and has also attended a Junior Dragons meeting. We are keen to do more to make the Junior Dragons more accessible to all young people and are hopeful that working alongside Kerry will help us achieve that goal.

I'm delighted to tell you all that we have had a very kind offer of help to purchase all the poncho's for the disabled fans on wet days, attending the Racecourse. I have been overwhelmed by the offers of help, since my blog went out onto RP and want to thank you all for your support. As soon as the company who has offered to purchase these for us have had chance to source what we need, I will let you all know who has kindly donated these .

We have also purchased Red Blankets, that we can hand out on either cold Saturdays / Tuesday nights.

We are hoping we can get branding onto both these items, but we will see !!

These are only small improvements but I feel will make a massive difference to disabled people's match day experience.
Always trying to improve !!

No such thing as "small" improvements Kerry. A brick is a "small" object which when combined with other small bricks becomes a wall. These small improvements are put together to make as you say a massive difference. Well done!!

I am delighted to support all the positive and helpful comments with regard to Kerry and the improvements she is making for our disabled supporters to enhance their match day experience.
I'm sure that she would agree she had a very solid and committed base on which to work - The Wrexham Disabled Supporters Association.

Working together, I have no doubt that we will continue to raise standards and be an example of good practice to others. Over a number of years, often under difficult circumstances, the DSA have never lost faith or focus, their work (the platform and it's match day organisation/support) is testimony to their dedication.

Well said Bill.

Of course, pitch side spaces are not the ideal and minimum standards of accessibility at football advise that no more than 25% of spaces are at this level, so we are looking to move on with the second and third platforms that were originally planned (and funding applied for) back in 2014-15.
Currently we have 51 wheelchair user spaces and minimum standards require that a stadium with a 10,000 capacity has 100.
Any further increase in capacity requires 5 wheelchair spaces per 1000 seats, so for example a 5000 seat Kop would require 25 more wheelchair spaces just to keep Kop itself at minimum standards.

A Massive Thank You

I met a lovely lady today who has very kindly donated the money for us to purchase another 10 blankets for wheelchair fans at Wrexham AFC so Thank you Shireen Hughes, your kindness is very much appreciated.
Also a massive thank you to Andy and Gaz at Top Marks Uniforms Wrexham and also to Jeff who sorted it all for me, who have made a massively generous donation to us by purchasing all the poncho's for wheelchair fans, we really are so grateful to you.
The kindness I am receiving from fans is quite over whelming, so a massive thank you to you all once again, Your generosity is very humbling and I am personally so grateful.
