I am not sure how comparable Tranmere are to us or most other teams in this league. Isn’t their playing budget £2m+? On that basis Mellon has significantly underachieved.

Significantly underachieved making the play-offs final 2 yrs on the trot? When it your previous post you were more or less saying money does not count, Keates underachieved with the biggest budget any manager has had since Saunders..

I guess so but my point was that I wouldn’t say he has necessarily done a brilliant job there. Pretty much any manager should have them challenging with that budget.

Most people don’t really rate Morrell but he got us to within a whisker of promotion and then to the play-off final, on a significantly smaller budget.

Has anyone seen the highlights of tranmere from the weekend, they tore Ebbsfleet apart we have nothing like them going forward. Will they keep these players on promotion is the question.

We will know our intent once the signings start, if we don’t sign a proven goal scorer and we sign players with a record like boden then we will not magically have a 20+ goal striker.

The signings this summer if they are the same as this season especially with the forwards then we will be in the same situation next year.

I expect a few players may jump ship in Wedgbury and Pearson, I hope not but I think a few will go.

Location is key to this league though, Macclesfield and tranmere leaving the league is better for us!

Flyde and Salford though can offer way more money than us though. If Tranmere don't go up theres another big club still around here.
