Default WrexhaMK

MK dons have now been relegated to Div. 2 the experiment has failed and it's an ideal time for us to find an alternative route into the league.

It's time to make a bid for the dons, without the ground they are fairly worthless anyway, and with the ground we would be able to sell it off for development whilst relocating the club up here.

It's win win win. winklewotsit gets rid of the liability he has created, we get a place in Div 2, and football gets the satisfaction of seeing MK get the ending they truly deserve.

In 5 years time the majority of the National league will be ex league teams all trying to compete with the sugar daddies and with 4 down the North & South will be littered with them as well.
Its difficult to see a way back unless we can find a way to increase revenue significantly.
Even BTB which soared to the FANtastic heights of £100k and it still failed to make a difference.

Feeling quite low at the moment in terms of our chances.

With the finances as they are we have a chance and that's as good as it gets. It would be fascinating to see how much money has been splurged trying to get out of this league.

From what little I can glean I think the budget to have a chance is betwee500K and 3 million. The other variables are that significant its a route to depression to blame it all on the budget. What difference does a good manager make? What difference does a striker in a streak of form make? We lost Holroyd at the beginning and the end of season, any effect?

I enjoy watching football, the ultimate high is when Wrexham get promoted, and to be in with a realistic chance every year (at least in August) is keeping the crowds at a healthy level.

Great to see Franchise FC MK Dons sinking like a stone. When we were relegated from League One we would have stayed up and they would have gone down if it wasn’t for the 10 point deduction we were given.

As for our chances of going up - every other year or so a team with a comparable or lower budget than us goes up from our league. Teams who spend huge amounts often fail or take many years to be promoted. We just need the right manager and players, like any club, along with a bit of luck. Easier said than done of course, but entirely possible.

Living 30mins from MK I have local knowledge they where always doomed for the drop into L2, shame we couldn't have gone up as I was looking forward to a local game.

Same goes for Northampton

Its a manager that can get the basics right that will do it for us. Getting players playing in the right preferred positions, a formation that works, an eye for a good signing. All our previous recent managers have got bits right but have failed in other areas. We need someone who can get minimum two or three bits right rather than one

A lot of it is down to a good manager who does his homework on players they sign. Did Keates do his homework on his first signing the Millionaire? A managers contacts also comes through experience, it's no coincidence that Mellon at Tranmere has took them this season from struggling near the bottom of the league at one stage something like 15 points from the play off positions to finish second and probably favourites to go up this time, play offs final 2 yrs running yet we took 4 points off them. How's he done it? Well their defence is far from the best but they score lots rarely 0-0 bore draws, they have a top striker at this level in Cook, he did it at Fleetwood with a top striker in Vardy, did it in the league at Shrewsbury with Mangan, when's the last time we had a striker who scored 20 or more?

I've a feeling personally we will regret not going after Mark Yates what he did at Solihull who were rooted in the bottom 4 made what Keates did with us after Mills look nothing anywhere near the same & Solihull have no money.

That's why I can't get my head around going for a guy of 36 who has only coached an Under 16 side, where is the experience in our management team?

Of course I will get behind SR like any manager at our club and Hope he turns out to be the man to take us up but I won't hold my breath. They all talk the talk when taking the job but doing it with little money is a hell of a challenge and for a fanbase that's basically getting more & more impatient for success after the demise of Saunders team we have come nowhere near.
