To Everyone involved with Wrexham A.F.C.

25 years ago I was lucky to start my journey with Wrexham Football Club, and what a journey it has been, from being proud to pull on the shirt and play for my hometown club at the age of 14 to managing the first team for the last 8 games of the season. Wrexham is home but the opportunity to further myself professionally and to work alongside Dean again is one I couldn’t refuse and a challenge I am looking forward to.

There are so many people to thank. Thank you to the staff, the board, the players, the fans. Thank you to the Youth Department, the parents, the players, the coaches and staff. It has been an honour to work with you all in my many different roles at the club.

I have been fortunate to work alongside many managers and coaches at the Club and have learnt a lot from all of them but one of my biggest thanks is to Joey Jones. Joey has helped me develop professionally, always supported me and I am privileged to call him a friend, for this I will always be grateful.

As a team over the last 18 months we’ve experienced highs and lows. We were thrilled to be top of the league in November and always had our sight set on the play offs and ultimately promotion. As we all know that wasn’t meant to be this time, and as many people have said hindsight is a wonderful thing, but we took on the task and nobody is more disappointed than me that we didn’t deliver. But progress has been made in stabilising and developing the foundations of the club and with continued hard work both on and off the pitch I am confident Wrexham AFC will achieve their ultimate goal and achieve promotion in the near future.

I would like to wish Sam and everyone connected with the club every success in the future.

Andy
A gentleman as always. Thanks for all you have done for our club Andy. Your work with the youth set up was immense. Good luck for the future.

This. Like Steve Weaver before him. Weve lost 2 good youth coaches after theyve been promoted to assistant managers.

A really dignified statement from Andy - I'm sure he was as gutted as the rest of us over the last few games. Best wishes for the future and thanks for everything you did for Wrexham F.C.

A classy statement from Andy Davies, he comes across as a genuine bloke. It's a shame the players downed tools the second keates left. Best of luck at Walsall

If I was a Walsall fan I’d be wondering why we’re bringing in someone that managed to throw away months of good work in the last eight games of a season.

No loss.
As a number two, he will do a good job. With an eye on the youth players he can spot a decent one. They only need be concerned if he was going as a manager.

Why would you down tools with promotion in your sights and an opportunity to better yourselves. Baffling isn't it. Opportunity flunked.

It has to be said that 25 years service is a real stint in this day and age and I think that most appreciate the time, effort and commitment he has shown to this club.

Thanks Andy. Who can blame him for wanting to test his talents at league level.

Changing of the guard yet again in our management team so lets hope that Sam is the one we have been waiting for

Andy Davies was really good at youth level highly thought of. I always felt he wasn't suited for senior football. looks like a good job at Walsall was in the pipeline and took his eye of the job in hand here at Wrexham. This has spoilt his reputation amongst some Wrexham fans just like Carey.
