Where is Mills now? (Other than down the boozer or on a sunbed)...

Promoting youth lads to the first team and then not playing them because they declined his offer of a few pints on his 'Friday night piss up stop overs' is up there for me.

Maybe SR had done his homework but I noticed how he was on water Tuesday night whereas Mills was necking Guinness on his 'Meet The Manager'

Can anyone explain how slagging Mills DOESN'T result in a Wrexham fan looking stupid?

Before Christmas in his first season didn't you enjoy the football? What was that strange clapping noise and that strange cheering noise we all made after a rousing home win with Mills walking round the pitch applauding the fans.

We signed him because of a record of success and the lovely football he had got Gateshead playing.

He created a relaxed and fun atmosphere for the squad, and lo and behold in the bad times this was used against him to create the devil who ruined our side.

YOU and I adored him when we got sexy football. Don't let us be as simple as to criticise him for his downfall. What are we going to say when a meticulous, fitness mad, video analysing manager fails? 'Oh he should have been better on the man management side, he was a robot'. I think criticising Mills is pretty pathetic. Remember how you felt before Christmas in his first season.

I did, we signed him and never even played him in his correct position, many on here said he was not fit having stepped up to full time but let’s not forget Mills use to arrive 45 mins late for trading and take the players to the Pant y Ochan after for beers so what chance did he have here. Funny how he’s been successful away from us under a certain manager we have turned down.

A few decent months followed by a year of carnage which saw us drifting perilously close to relegation.
If a fun and relaxed atmosphere means getting the players drunk and regularly giving them days off from training (including 3 days running up to the derby) then I know I'd prefer the "robot" you described.
There are plenty of other examples of things he did in this thread which means I don't feel a bit stupid for criticizing him

He was poor for us, didn't have a position. Went Tamworth, did nowt. Chester, did nowt. If we had signed him last summer, everyone would have been against it - 100%. Its worked out for him at macc, great for the lad, but lets not rewrite history.

Ian Bogie got that Gateshead team playing, remember the 7-2 drubbing, Mills added Maddison to be fair though.

he had position before he joined us we never used him in it and let him go. He’s been successful and proved this club wrong, good luck to the lad.

Players have been sold/packed off who have or could have done better under different management. Maybe there is something wrong with our recruitment of managers.
