Watson wasn't into the last 3, so I don't if it would of got that far. Askey wanted his own team and near 3 times the salary we've paid a manager under the trust.

I’m glad we didn’t pay crazy money, would rather we spent the cash on players. I think the season just past might have been the one to push the boat. Salford will splash cash which will inflate things, prob won’t go up next year but I’d be surprised if they didn’t the following year. The class of 92 is appealing to some also so money coupled with that will make them attractive.

It's ironic that the Welsh manager will be funding Salford the direct competitor to the only Welsh team in the conference. Surely that's a conflict of interest. Or has Giggs stopped his involvement at Salford?

I would consider paying big money for a manager who has consistently got teams out of this league, but probably not for someone who has done it once. Fair play for Askey if he can cash in.

Another will be in our league next season. We have to use ours in a smarter way. Like Lincoln did. The point about Macc is that if the rumours are true theirs was well below the competitive category.
Looking at Boreham Wood squad I doubt their budget is significantly more than us. I don't see many players in their team that we couldn't have afforded.

How is it a conflict of interest? He's Wales manager why would he give a shit about us? Weren't they in the same league as Colwyn Bay at 1 point? Should he have ordered them to deliberately throw those games?!!

I was predicting a Tranmere win 😉
Glad they did. Amazing performance in the circumstances.

I was pointing out that was one of the reasons he didn't get the job last time. When keates was appointed! Askey wanted Watson to come with him and he was alledgedly on a very good contract.

Yes Watson probably didn't even apply this time now he has the Gateshead job.

We were paying Saunders £100k under trust ownership, as a hangover from Moss, weren't we? You mean Askey wanted £300k?? No way!
