Has any professional club ever done so? If so it must be very rare as I don’t recall it.

The only type of person who would put money into our club is a fan, since we don’t own anything and there is no money to be made here. Would they really need an advert to be placed to do that? I don’t think so.

I think it would be a total waste of time, money and effort and it would make us look a bit sad and desperate.
Chesters investor is not new is he, he's an existing investor - wasn't/isn't the ground the Exacta stadium? He has now promised them a bit more money and got some good PR out of it.

Yes I think you’re right. It’s a good PR exercise.

We get the same sort of investment from the likes of AEC Electrical and Hays Travel.

What's important to us as fans. If I wrote a top 10 reasons why I love and enjoy supporting Wrexham, the division we're currently playing in would struggle to be on that list.

Do we want to be in league 2 or higher, owned by overseas businessmen, playing in a Deva style 'stadium' next to the Berwyn prison, maybe with a new badge, kit colour, or even name. Just so we can play against Bury instead of Bromley?
Totally agree. There are some, I think, who would readily succumb to all your fears if it meant playing against Morecambe instead Maidenhead, etc. We all want to play against Morecambe, if only for the fish and chips, but must go about it the right way. To sell up to an outside 'investor' with no connection to the club or town would be pretty stupid, given past experience.

Yeah terrible isn't it

I mean how dare someone ask the question why 15 other established football clubs can escape this shithole of a league , yet here we still are finishing 10th

Dont worry their is a very good chance we might play Morecambe the season after next as they only stayed up by a fraction so they could come down next season.

Why's he waited till they've been relegated to the NL North....Could it be that promotion from that League is a lot easier than from the Prem NL...
Credit for getting Chester promotion..........But what happens next ?.

We all want to get back into the football league, however for every Bristol Rovers or Tranmere there is a Stockport and a Darlington (and I don't mean Carl). Chester tried going above their means last season and ran out of money. If any outside investors want to pump money in, put an offer in to the board, who I believe have yet to receive such an offer. If we go out asking for investors, the likelihood is we will be inundated by the same clowns and chancers, like moss was.

Absolutely. It would be a huge waste of money, time and effort. Those running the club would have to focus on that rather than what they should be focused on, and trawl through stuff which will all probably be from timewasters, tyre kickers and outright fantasists.

Congratulations to Macclesfield and Tranmere, I wouldn’t comment on their problems or finances that’s not my style. We need to focus on ourselves and not sound bitter.

To be honest I think we probably agree on most things, but your hyberbolic throwaway comment to “buy ourselves into the league” and even mentioning that scum MkDons in your post was ridiculous.
Yes mate, I think we do agree on most things and that includes MK Dons, who I despise also, I apologise if that comment was a bit much, it was a suggestion I lifted from another thread, the point I was trying to make, I guess, was we may need to be quite radical in our thinking.
As a club, we don’t have the financial clout that is mostly required, therefore we must raise more capital. To do this we could:
Rely on “football fortune” - the board quite rightly never budget for this, and we could never rely on this.
Look for investors - that hasn’t gone too well so far, and could prove very devisive amongst the fansbase, who are of course “the owners “.
Ask “the owners” for more money, as has been discussed on here, and I personally think we could contribute more, but not everyone can, and it would have to be handled very carefully so as not to isolate some.
The business looks for ways to produce more income than it does currently. This is where I feel there are avenues to explore.
