I disagree entirely, plenty of young players in non-league improve, I have seen a whole host of non league U21 sides this year with some great talent being developed at the key ages of 18-21. Wrexham have no pathway at all at the age of 18, no reserves, no 21s, no 23s, nothing except throw them out on loan somewhere, or in Leo's case don't even do that and get him to do nothing and stagnate for a year. Development isn't an accident, you have to prepare, plan, action, monitor and review to get players to the 1st team.

Perhaps I phrased it badly. I meant that is the reality for us while we're non-league as these players don't play for an entire season and don't develop.

We could've signed Marx on for another year but he more than likely wouldn't have got any game time, been shipped out on loan, then we're back at square one again.

I'm not saying this is good; its just that its the reality while there's no pathway in place. In an ideal world I'd love a properly funded CoE and routeways to the first team via u21s, reserves etc., but unfortunately this area of the club has been in decline for some time.

Wouldn't be surprised to see Tranmere and Macc release a few players now they have been promoted, as they will need to strengthen next season. I wonder if any of them will be on our radar?

Franks was a free agent when we signed him. It's admittedly not a major issue, it's just politeness, especially when telling someone about their employment status.

Even just a phonecall, a "thanks for your service at the club, however we won't be renewing your contract at this time" would suffice. Just commom courtesy.
