Perhaps I phrased it badly. I meant that is the reality for us while we're non-league as these players don't play for an entire season and don't develop.
We could've signed Marx on for another year but he more than likely wouldn't have got any game time, been shipped out on loan, then we're back at square one again.
I'm not saying this is good; its just that its the reality while there's no pathway in place. In an ideal world I'd love a properly funded CoE and routeways to the first team via u21s, reserves etc., but unfortunately this area of the club has been in decline for some time.
