What a strange concept in respect of what A squad filler should be. The good thing with Carrington is if you have an injury he will slot in an do a job and ,at this level, a perfectly good one. Your alternative would mean blooding a youngster in a game perhaps with 80 minutes to go.
In my opinion starting with Carrington limits us in respect of his lack of ability to get forward and create things. However coming on and not disturbing the shape he does very well. And yes ,for me, he is one of our own.

I think exactly this....... injuries or suspensions he can slot in at FB or midfield.
I would have also given him a go at RM at the end. Every winning team needs a supersub

I don't think he should have been retained.

I understand the fact he provides cover, but that slot should have gone to a Raven type to cover across the back four.

But what about midfield? I hear you cry...well we have 3 CM's already and we surely need another couple, so Wright or Deverdics provide midfield cover.

Give the lad a break he's as good a full back as the other two may even be better. Seldom gives the ball away and looks up for the pass. Let's get real we are in the 5th tier not the prem more than adequate for this division.

Every player should be a squad player. Its up to the individuals to play so well that they retain their places.

Yes, there will be a perceived strongest starting 11 but none of those should be thinking they won't be dropped, even Pearson and Smith.

To get promotion you need every player pushing to the best of their ability, creating competition for places. Therefore every player is important.

Carrington shouldn't be starting but shouldn't think of himself as injury cover either, and I doubt he will.

Carrington is a good footballer . Very loyal and can play many positions . He is appreciated by all the managers . I don’t understand why he gets criticism . Thankfully it’s from the minority . I expect he is very well respected by his teammates . He is technically competent , can play on the left and right side together with across the midfield . He covers for colleagues and is a hard worker . I would suggest that he also likes playing for us . I for one am very pleased he is staying

Personally consider him to be almost an adopted 'one of our own' :-)
