Re: Sam Wedgbury’s contract cancelled by mutual consent
Six figures for a 28 year old conference centre back? Not a cat in hell's chance.

Re: Sam Wedgbury’s contract cancelled by mutual consent
Of course it will. He is worth what someone is willing to pay, and I'd be amazed if that figure was six figures.

Re: Sam Wedgbury’s contract cancelled by mutual consent
Pearson has had a good season here, but he has also had a very good defence around him. He was released by Grimsby as they didn't think he was up to league two standard. He is a top conference player and a great captain at this level. If Walsall were looking to bid for him and build a defence around him at league 1 level, I would say keates will be out of a job by Christmas. He isn't as good as some make out. He's just a very good centre half at conference level. As soon as you move him up the leagues, and put him against faster strikers, I think he would struggle.

Re: Sam Wedgbury’s contract cancelled by mutual consent
I know it’s a different level of football but principal is the same.
Virgil Can Dyke was refused permission by Southampton to go to Liverpool and kept to his contract for a period of time, this was seen by many Southampton fans as bad for the team because of the unrest and nearly ended in them getting relegated. There isn’t any point in keeping a player at a club if he doesn’t want to be here. Also in regards to transfer fees if the club doesn’t play ball then the player will just sit out his contract and take the money which was agreed it as simple as that. I applaud the board and manager in taking this decision because it’s the correct one at this level and at all levels imo. It’s a team game from manager down and if anyone doesn’t want to be part of the team ,let them go for the the sake of the team. |
