If he's off to Chesterfield as is rumoured then fair enough as they haven't got the cash to pay a fee. It's only if he ends up somewhere like Salford that I'll be really annoyed.

Yep. fully expecting him to be signed up by the end of the week with someone. He isn't going to walk without having the security of another offer.

Sam, Manny,and Shaun Pearson were arguably our 3 most consistent players last season. Why sign the contract extension?? In saying that he will need to be replaced with quality - Good luck to him, a 100% effort player :-)

Relatively pleased with this. He wa superb defensively but offered nothing going forward. We need someone who can do both.

Meh. Probs not lost much and we can get on with a replacement. He was the best of a bad bunch last year in midfield but I’m hopeful we can get a tough tackling midfielder who has the ability and motivation to pass and move too.

The argument that Ricketts may not fancy him - so no point keeping him - doesn't really address the writing off of an asset, whose value we as a club cant afford to simply write off, purely on the basis he doesn't fancy the travel any more.

I just hope we haven't - but I'm equally sure we have - been stitched up and he appears as a free signing at a local club - who just didn't fancy paying a fee, and got Wedgebury to play the travel costs card
