I don't think Ricketts will build a midfield around anyone. But I still have the hope that his time at Hartlepool hasn't taken his appetite for the game.

Maybe a few weeks break before pre season will help him relax, have a chill and maybe watching the world cup will reignite a flame for the game.

I think if Ricketts plays him in the centre midfield position he likes then his confidence and passion might come back. I still have hope lol.

But you are probably right, Maidstone awaits!

Yes I realise Deverdics hasn't impressed but from the times I have seen him in the past there is a cracking ball player there somewhere.

All I can say is never play hide and seek with Deverdics, as boy is that guy good at hiding things.

He flattered to deceive last season but starts anew in August with a clean slate. I have the feeling Ricketts won't be tolerating shirkers so if his heart truly isn't in it he will soon be found out and shipped out.

Personally im willing to give him that chance and hope he does get back to the player we saw and heard about two or three seasons ago.

He was brilliant for Dover in the midfield 3, more advanced of the 3 though, didn't he get something like 10 goals and 15 assists one season ? Which tempted Hartlepool to take him to League 2 at the time

I was always impressed with him for Dover. Which is why last season's 'performances' were so disappointing.

Pre season to find out. Dilemma is do you risk him there to find out hes crap and then have very little to choose from to bring in because all your targets have been taken? Personally with what I saw when we brought him in I would look at shipping out.

I saw a player, frustrated at not being really involved in games and unable to have any influence from a wide position. Couple that with little or no movement through midfield and the gap between them and the forwards and it's no wonder you haven't seen him in a good light.

He may not even start next season but if he does it has surely got to be because we're playing more football and using the ability that he has.

Whole new midfield needed without doubt.

I think anyone hoping for a different Deverdics this season may be in for a disappointment. Never looked hungry or like he could be bothered. Basically did sweet fa for us last season. Let’s be honest if he wasn’t under contract for this season he’d have been on everyone’s release list. Rose tinted specs are out in force already along with those short memories.
