Lol what were you renting? A castle?!

I have a couple of times. Its fecking well expensive. Even if you're only renting.

It's certainly not greed.

It's also not really similar to Rhys Taylor, because he'd already played in the North and played for Macclesfield before us. Cheek has never played North of the Watford Gap
Relocated 12,000 miles wife was poached as to speak
Never got a penny , if you want something badly enough you will do it
It looks like greed to me

I wouldn't call it greed. He might have been offered more to play for us, but been worse off moving up here overall. There's plenty of factors to consider such such as salary, length of contract, family etc.

There's plenty of players who've took a pay cut for a longer deal or to move to a club closer to home.

Cheek was on over £1200 a week at Dagenham, the reason why they was so desperate to get rid. The price of living in London area will be considerably higher than in north Wales. And he would have known he was leaving Dagenham in January time, so it really wouldn't be hard to save up to move area the amount of money he was on. The majority of players rent houses because the likelihood of moving clubs so no chance on earth would it cost 8-10k to move up here. He'd probably save that much a season living up here than in London.

If we really want a player then I can see why it might be helpful to contribute towards relocating. That said, it all depends how much really. Pretty sure Pearson upped sticks and found a rental pretty swiftly.

Sounds like we had a lucky escape saving his wages and add-ons, especially as he isn't doing much for Ebbsfleet.

In fairness he's being kept out of the side vy Kedwell, who is doing very well. Cheek will score goals for them for sure
