On the football side of things-does anyone think they would watch Solihull full time?
Just a bunch of bruisers who lump it in the box asap. Terrible style and I personally would not watch them on a regular basis. |

I'd worry about style when we're in League 2, if 'bruisers who lump it in the box asap' get results (Stevenage some years back and now Solihull) enough to get promotion, then quite frankly I'd be thrilled to watch it.

Well, depends where your roots are - if your from the Solihull area or an exile then regardless of the style of play you would follow your team through thick and thin. Can't really complain too much - after all they are top of the league. In comparison, do we as a team provide attractive entertaining football ? Quite often in recent seasons I have been bored out of my skull watching us - what I would call entertaining was the spell under Gary Mills - crowds went massively up and you actually looked forward with great anticipation to the next home game - then it all went belly up (sadly). I think Tim Flowers has done a fantastic job - he's got a team of individuals who are big physical characters who can hold their own at this level - there is a saying that a good big one is better than a good little one - perhaps we have too many Rutherford's and Kelly's in comparison - you simply have to match the physicality of teams at this level then rely on hopefully the extra quality of individual players to give your team that edge over your rivals. |
