Partly, it definitely didn't help. But also he was coming off the back of a really poor confidence sapping season in Scotland. Maybe he just needed a bit of patience?

When Boden was at Wrexham like many strikers before and since he had no supply of scoring chances through lack of creation in midfield on the wings and 2 very average fullbacks, oh for an Ashton and a Keates /Harris in the midfield.

Fans were always moaning about Boden and every striker before and since and I and many have said Harry Kane for EG would struggle to score goals in this negative side, we started offer ok under Hughes but now we have reverted to type hoofing the ball up to a lone 5ft 7 striker with no other players within yards of him. We must ditch the bluffer's next season the players who run around like rabid dogs but have very little skill and produce nothing. And Hughes should play Oswell for the rest of the season he just needs a goal.

I honestly think Boden was physically or mentally unwell whilst with us, it wasnt just our lack of creativity he just never looked right. The spell at Inverness affected him massively I think but he obviously got his confidence back at Gateshead and is now doing well.
