Watch some highlights of recent games if you haven't already. We look miles away from a team that can compete in the play offs, hence the negativity.

I do not understand the negativity. Reading some of the posts on here its not worth turning up. We are where we are with what we have, we just need that little bit of luck.

And that's the crux of the matter. You are relying on luck.
We shouldn't have to rely on luck (well, maybe a slight bit), all the issues we are 'negative' about have been happening all season and last season too.
They really should have been addressed but crazy appointment decisions from the departure of Ricketts onwards have scuppered any chance of that.

On the field we have become a nervy, confidence shot side that if we concede first doesn't recover.

I wish that the stars do align and we get promoted but realistically we are shot. Even in a one off game its a lot to ask with the current squad and confidence.

We aren't a bad squad as we have been around the top all season, but look at what could have been. The league is terrible this season.

You are right in so much as that to win the play off's we would need to find a way to score goals. It's attacking teams that win the play off's, it's almost a condensed cup competition. You only have to have been at the play off final against Newport to see how goal scorers make the difference in these games. Our lack of goals throughout the season, the sudden loss of form and confidence at the 'business end' of the season are, I fear, going to cost us.

The games this season where we have opened up and had a go, Salford apart, we have been taken to pieces. The influx of new players January onwards has destablised the team. We go into the vital run playing poorly and with a lack of cohesion. I fear for an embarrassing limp into and quickly out of the play off's.

Wished I could be more positive but can not find any reason to be. I hope beyond hope I am wrong

Read in my local paper today that Gerry McDonagh has had "an off the field problem" and been out of the Aldershot side for a couple of weeks returning to the bench last Saturday. Apparently a police-issued ankle tag was clearly visible underneath his sock on his left ankle. I didn't rate him when he was with us but it's a shame to see yet another young player going off the rails.
