It does have the potential to repeat what Fleetwood did in our 98 point season - that's the difference - if Salford need a boost of quality they will have the ability to go out and buy it - somehow don't think our players will be on their radar - they seem to be bringing in players from much higher up the pyramid. Based on the money they have spent, the quality of players they have brought in and the appointment of their new manager, come January the rest of us will be competing for second place - anything less and they will have massively underachieved and Alexander will quickly be replaced - they are clearly not hanging about.

I don't think you can compare the 98 pt season squad to this one. Far behind in quality this season.

We're the definition of hanging about, going nowhere but we all just have to accept it.

I really hope they fail massively. Certainly won't be easy for them. Every team in the league will want to put one over on them, especially their association with Fergie's Babes or whatever they were called. Not as easy as splashing a few quid.

I hope others out there underestimate Wrexham as much as our own fans do. Got a really good feeling Ricketts and Barrow are going to get the best out of our lads this season. One thing's for sure, a below-par performance on a Saturday afternoon will make for a few sleepless nights on a Sunday evening. These two will take no prisoners.

Personally I want them to succeed in this league, get the feckers out of the way before they do any more damage. Once they go up then yes, I'd love to see this stain of a football club go pop, but it's in everyone's interest in this league for them to go up this season and then a little bit of normality can return.

I'm certainly not comparing the quality of our current squad with the one that came runners up to Fleetwood - I agree with you they are far inferior.

However, Salford will simply have the big financial clout to go out in January and strengthen their squad (if they need to) for the final push if it turns out anyone is running them close - something the rest of wont have the capability to do. In the end money makes the difference - perhaps not immediately but over a full season. We were league leaders for months in our race for the title with Fleetwood but whilst we were losing players (Obeng) and lacked that little bit of game changing quality from the bench, Fleetwood strengthened.

Aye.

There's plenty of teams that have spent their way out of the conference, and there will be more monied teams when Salford have gained promotion. However in Salford's case the money being thrown around looks off the scale; I don't think we'll see anything like it from any team for a good while.

Or we could go up before them.
