I personally think that given what they inherited they have done a pretty good job so far. If you are alluding to performances by the football team, then we all know we should be doing better, just as the fans at Hartlepool, Aldershot, Orient and all the other Ex league clubs do. We will be competitive this season. How competitive remains to be seen but I'm relatively optimistic from what I've seen to date. Rickets has bolstered the midfield which was a priority and acquired a very promising Attacker in Fondop. If he can add to the forward line we've got a real opportunity. Salford can spend all they want. Money doesn't always buy success. |

It all appears totally rudderless and I am talking WAFC not WST. We dont have the budget to get the right players and Sam needs to make do with the bare bones which he doesnt even have yet. We need a WAFC board chairman and board that will drive strategy, planning and change and accountability. Or maybe you see something completely different and a club that is thriving. |

We could. In the same way Williams could win the F1 championship ahead of Mercedes-Benz and Ferrari.

Football acumen? They do have football acumen, but more to the point, most clubs are owned by people for whom football is a hobby. And every year some of them do well, and some do badly. Not many clubs are run by ex professional footballers. We don’t know what Sam’s budget is or how much he has left to spend. We don’t know what kind of job he will do as manager. We don’t know how well the team will do next season. There’s no evidence at all that we are rudderless. What is true is that it has felt like a long time since last season, and I think some people have really started to get fevered and exaggerate and overthink. |
