What about 2nd and play off finalists which you have omitted? Play off this season as well.

Fine, we sack the board, the we even sack the management team of the football team, so basic question who takes over from them? After all, we are at the moment a 'fans owned club', so which members of WST would replace those who have have gone, or would you rather we go back to the Hamilton et al days, you only have to look around the lower reaches of the EFL to see the low-life that have taken over clubs like Macclesfield etc trying to make a killing out the assets of the club and putting the clubs in mortal danger, the grass is not always greener etc etc

I omitted the first 1/2 season and the play off final as trust ownership didn’t come into full force, we seen the drastic budget cuts when we nearly got relegated and we haven’t made the play offs this season yet.....

Being fan owned is more important to some fans than the football. That much is clear. WST fans not Wrexham FC fans.
Personally I don't think its down to a lack of ambition so much more that the current club board don't really know what they're doing on the football side (see January fiasco or last seasons disaster by putting Davies in charge) and value their own position on the board over anything else.

Like everyone else I am as frustrated as hell about being stuck in this league. However this post makes some very good points.
