Last season was a massive chance, we blew it and likely to have less money this time unless we have a decent cup run and opponents.

Recruitment will initially define our season. So we wait with bated breath.
Nope and nope, both in freefall with financial problems, see Orient and Chesterfield's 1st seasons for how they'll do. Fylde yes. Solihull I feel their better players will leave and maybe flowers, the likes of Wright and Carter will be a year older and already veterans. Chesterfield yes. Harrogate, again think their better players may be poached but possibly. Eastleigh no, cost cutting needed so higher earners likely to leave and McCallum will go to the league. Hartlepool, maybe but cant see it. Think Barnet and Bromley will do ok but we've got a great chance if we can strengthen in the right areas.

Don’t think we can really predict who’s gonna do well and who isn’t at this stage. Everyone was saying how well they were expecting Aldershot and Boreham Wood to do and look where they’ve finished this season. Bet no-one thought Harrogate were gonna be in the play-offs...

‘Strengthen in the right areas’ that’s a phrase that’s been said 100’s of times since we’ve been down here, unfortunately the players we need in the important positions require paying so hopefully Hughes can use his foot golf contacts to try and get quality to fit into our wage cap.

Agree to an extent but you can look at factors like unstable ownership, cost cutting, small budgets, full v part time, past season experience and make some.educated guesses. We have nothing better to do until August than speculate!

Shhhhh.... there isn’t a wage cap. The “playing budget” can be spent on anything and everything football related.

The manager can spend what he wants, just as long nobody wants more than Pearson. Everybody knows the way to win the league is by paying your top strikers less than your favourite centre back.

I wonder as a percentage of the “playing budget”, what is available to Brian to spend on players wages?

8,049 at Wembley yesterday, just shows how the 'Class of 92' have stuffed the National League - both teams should be penalised for simulating as proper football clubs. Hopefully FFP rules plus United's decline will stuff the 'Class of 92'.

Play Off finals for both National League North & South concluded today.

Winners Chorley and Woking will be joining us next season.

Already thinking about who we will be paired with on boxing day / nyd.

Wont be Stockport County - too costly to steward & police on a bank holiday - but Chorley could be a strong possibility.

However, not sure if the league is all sorted yet - situation with Gateshead is critical - they may end up being demoted due to financial problems and possibly Aldershot reinstated. Gone a bit quiet up in the north east last few days but the trap door is certainly looming.

Woking are a bit of a yo-yo club aren't they, although they seem to have a decentish following. Correct me if I'm mistaken but are Chorley another full-time club from the NLN with a bit of financial backing?
