Default Sam's Plan

Last night's email from the Trust is encouraging news. I'm surprised that I can't find a thread about it.

Several have posted the need for the Club to have a plan, along with an explanation of how the plan can be executed.

It looks as though Sam has one, and is working with the Trust on getting it moving much sooner rather than later.

His predecessors have been accused of inactivity in bringing new players to the squad. Well, Sam seems to have his eye on the ball:

"The most important part of the season for squad building is the summer transfer window. This means making the biggest budget possible available to Sam Ricketts and his staff in the next 4 weeks to finalise our squad with the players who can score the goals to complement the meanest defence in the National league. Our aim is to raise as much as possible by Friday 15th June 2018 so the money is available this transfer window!"

"Manager Sam Ricketts said “I’ve made my priorities clear since I joined the club that it is goal scorers that we need to improve our chances next season. BuildTheBudget is a fabulous initiative from you, the owners of your club, to invest in helping me bring in the players that will get us the goals to make next season an entertaining and successful one”

Let the Building Begin!

I don't seem to be getting my emails, I'd better check that.

Harpooning the thread on reply one is a bit miserable but...is this a plan any different from any other year? To me it sounds like a repackaged version of the begging bowl - don't forget to not only pay up for your tickets but also slap more money on top or we won't score any goals.

I've got no beef with the Ricketts appointment but too much of what has come out from the meeting and from this is just more of the same; pay up and get another tiddly squad, just like the last three that failed.

What else do you honestly expect the board or Sam to say ? We are a fans owned club and therefore the primary providers of funding is the fans and their friends /colleagues whether we like that or not.

Begging bowl?

The trust/club asked the fans if they wanted to do build the budget again.

The fans voted yes.

The trust/club are promoting build the budget as best as they can.

Fine, but this thread has been packaged as encouraging news. It's barely even news, and that kind of take needs to enter the echo chamber. There's nothing to turn frowns upside down here.

Surely the encouraging news being referred to is this bit, where it is inferred we will play a more attacking style next season?

What is the current inexpended fund available in BTB. Is there a target amount of money that will get us who we need. I am happy to bing some more dosh in there if it gets us a super striker. Gotta back the new manager if we want to improve.
