Ps Rutherford is a good hard working pro and gets more assists than anyone else. Every successful team needs a Rutherford.

I don’t think Tranmere or Macc had one. Or if I’m honest, any of the the top half of the table. I’d take Wes York back over Rutherford, and that’s saying something.

Exactly.

Whilst not another 2-3 year plan situation we have a new manager that needs to find his feet pretty quickly in this league and for me has to start addressing some of the basics.

Support last year was quite unbelievable but cannot see everyone putting up with the same lack of quality this season.

people will have posted this almost every season for the last ten. Great sentiment though.

Entertaining football, being competitive, and perhaps a cup run of sorts. I will start my expectations there and hope for a bit better.

Love the positive post, nothing wrong with dreaming and I hope we're on here in a years time Saluting your trip to the local gypsy fortune teller, I went to one many years ago she told me I was shortly going to come into a fortune and live abroad...... Here I am those many years later no pools, lottery win or any financial windfall whatsoever soon to be scraping by on my pension.

But as I said dreaming is fine but unfortunately in my experience reality rules.

So as far as we are concerned at this very moment in time we have 2 very good central defenders for this level, 2 average fullbacks, no midfield Wright for me still a lot to learn Deverdics like a male model, no forwards other than half season Holroyd who is weak when a defender goes near him he dives looking for a free kick, a young goalkeeper who couldn't displace Dunn last season that's about it.

Now the board is begging us to collect 50k again to compete to sign a striker in a month, sounds to me like we are becoming reliant on charitable donations just to get a side together, because non of next seasons budget has been spent unless it's gone on average players like Carrington, Rutherford and Holroyd.

So yes I can see where the positivity is coming from 😂 the Stella pack.
