Default The reds are going up

Who reckons next year could be ours?

Personally I think it's gonna be our year. The board have made a sterling appointment in Ricketts in my opinion and I think we have a great nucleus of a squad that can challenge for promotion (although Rutherford is a waste of the budget). U16s or not Ricketts has experience with top level players while Keates was frankly one dimensional and a footballing dinosaur. With tranmere out the league we now have the chance to be the rightful dominant force. Ricketts is the name

Loud and proud from Caia Park.

Fair play, nice to see such a positive post on Redpassion. I agree with you, this year could be our year. We have the best defence in the league, and looking at the players we have let go from last season, I think it's only wedgbury I'm a bit gutted with. I have never rated Dunn in goal so am glad we have let him go. Yes he made some important saves for us but he has cost us a few points with his punching or commanding the area. If Ricketts can use his contacts in the game, and manage to bring in some quality up front and in midfield, as well as defensive back up and a keeper, then I can't see why we can't win the league this time. Happy to see holroyd signing back on, as I think with a more attacking formation and mind set, he could hit 20 goals this season. Also hoping Akil Wright can stay injury free as he is a young lad with potential. Let's get behind the manager and move forward together.

Looking at the time of the post I am guessing drink was involved

No midfield, no forward line, no asst manager and no new signings yet its very optimistic and too early to say.

I am worried over the amount of budget available and BTB2 is going to be vital to our initial squad building.

Lets see how it unfolds and stop sounding like saddos. Its our year nonsense.

To be fair this thread is no more daft than the usual suspects elsewhere making doomsday predictions without any evidence. Agree we wait and see way too early to tell.

I admire you optimism, mine was at similar levels several years ago. Sadly we've found our level on the club management and playing front so we should be aiming for a top 10 finish and hopefully breaking into the play offs.

I admire your optimism. I felt exactly like this when I was about seven I think.

Ps Rutherford is a good hard working pro and gets more assists than anyone else. Every successful team needs a Rutherford.

Yet we’ve had him for 2 seasons and quite possibly the worst 2 seasons in the clubs history, yet every club needs a Rutherford....
