Again were talking about strategy, structure and planning. Something that has been lost in the need to balance the books as the only concern.

It won't make much difference. In reality they will be competing with the likes of the Manchester and Liverpool clubs. As it stands City have a development centre in Ellesmere Port, which is drawing a lot of the better players already. These are the players Swansea will want to tap into. Our competition is more the likes of Shrewsbury and TNS.

The sad truth is that the importance of Youth Development and the Academy to Wrexham AFC has declined greatly in recent years. Financial concerns , and fans' demands , have inevitably resulted in almost all the focus being on promotion to the Football League. It is unfair to blame the coaches who have to work with the meagre resources they are given. Equally, you cannot blame Swansea City for moving into an area that our Club is more or less abandoning.

Can somebody better clued up on it explain the difference?

Not really clued up, but we never had an acedemy. That was Flynn's and Cliff Sear's vision. We stopped short of that investment of creating an academy, it has always been a step down of a CoE.

Heard about this couple of weeks ago and was also told they will be using Colliers Park and have committed some funds to FAW in order to do so. Right kick in the balls for Wrexham fans if so.

does it matter as we cannot field a reserve side, we can debate aslong as we like, but surely the 1st team has got to come first and other things will follow on that sucess,theres not 1 player broke thru from the youth side,we have to get a winning side first and foremost , the longer it takes the gap widens we missed a a glorious chance last season but we have to go again

It's not that we can't field a reserve side, we just choose not to.
