Some will say he could come good given games but its the Mackreth et al spin really. Hope Sam cuts his losses on this one and he loans him or manages to off load him somewhere down south.
I my opinion, you can see the player in Deverdics, from his touch and delivery and only time will tell if he can up his game for us. If we continue with 442, then he is likely to start as 3rd choice centre mid and difficult to see how we will accommodate him but it is too early to write him off, especially those who want more footballers and less athletes in the squad.

Sorry DW but I think even your positive spin is lost on this one. Its been done too many times where we cling to the hope of a ‘player somewhere in there’.

We have to know when its a lost cause and I hope Sam has higher standards.
If we dont look at these standards we will continue to accept the mediocrity that had plagued us for years.

It just seems like financial imprudence to pay off contracts like some people advocate. Hes got 12 more months. Give him the preseason and see how he gets on in the new system. There is a player there. He had a few good seasons at Dover which got him England C caps and a move to a League team. If he's still useless then we will be able to find a loan move for him im sure, if we can get someone to pay his wages for the duration of the season then we end up losing a lot less.

All I can see in Deverdics is a player who doesn't want to work for his team mates.

The odd flick does not a player make.

90% of NL players have been a lost cause at some stage, but some come good if they are given a chance, they believe in themselves and they want it enough.

Deverdics was awful, but he HAS to be better than that.

Deserves a chance in the Jamie Tolley role in a midfield 3.

I’d give him another go, if we can get more out of him with better attacking tactics

It maybe that his assistant is under contract until say June 1st ... I'm sure we'll soon find out.

Our esteemed board have given a complete novice with no proven track record as a manager at any senior level, a 3 year contract......you're right to be worried....he's done bugger all yet to suggest he knows what the hell he is doing. I bet he cant believe where he is now compared where he was 6 months ago......apparently he talks the talk.....I hope for our Clubs sake that he can walk it as well!
