How are we defining what 'accepting mediocrity' is? If there's not 10,000 threads on RP about how shit we are every time we lose a game? If we're not all booing the players off the pitch after losing a couple of games? Having demonstrations outside board members houses if we finish below 7th?

You can be doing everything you can to try to succeed, but if you don't, it doesn't mean you've 'accepted' being poor. There's underachieving and then there's being content with underachieving. Who's content with it? I'd consider myself a happy clapper but I'm far from content. Every time we lose I'm pissed off. Every additional season spent in this division frustrates me no end. Not throwing your toys out of the pram is not equal to an acceptance of where we are.

This thread isn't blunt or controversial it's just borderline retarded.
Well said.

Plus we're not, and never have been, a big club in any league we've been in but this one.

Disagree.

For a third division team (league one) to make it to the quarter finals of the European Cup Winners cup followed in the next two seasons with the quarter finals of the league cup and FA cup putting out a plethora of league one (premiership) clubs in the process.

We were rightly considered a big club in that league at the time, amongst other teams with far bigger fan bases and financial power (i.e. Crystal Palace; Brighton; Preston, Sheffield Wednesday etc.).

Our European success means we are a big club in Wales and our cup success was notable purely because we're a small club. We were good in the 70s - that does not make a big club. It's the fanbases, finances and sustained league performances that do.

How many points have we gained on the pitch from our 'heritage' ? it's more of a counter-productive delusion than an attitude. For players it's a convenient idea that we have a god-given right to succeed, but our actual history means nothing to them.
Off the pitch our big club is still trying to sell tickets through an online system that must have been coded on Window 3.1. And somehow that's fine as the fans will jump through hoops to support this big club. Word of advice - check out tinpot Fylde's system.
My son has only ever known Wrexham as a non-league team, and like his mates, he is desperate for something real to celebrate. (FA Trophy forgotten already). There's no acceptance of our position from him. If the management, players, and the club in general had the same hunger as the young fans over this last decade, maybe we wouldn't still be down here. It's gonna take more than some massive floodlights.
Good posts and some home truths, anyone voted on the wst elections who built that voting page Noah when he built his ark.

Not very tablet friendly which most people are on in today’s age and no wonder the voting turnout is low mist probably just give up.

For me it would be better squad funding when the league was at its weakest to take advantage instead of then missing out. Then the we have more money in the bank which does not put those goals in the net sat in the bank.
