Default Re: Sam's Assistant (2)

Aslong as we have one is place for the start of pre season, I'm not sure there is a reason to panic.

The assistant will seldom have anything to do with signings, but I should imagine whoever Sam eventually brings in, he is already talking to regularly anyway.

Be it a friend, ex colleague, ex coach etc.

I agree. the start of pre season is the deadline for having everything in place, assistant and key signings. The odd loanee/trialist can be added of course.

Not sure that’s true. An assistant who’s been in the game for a while will have a significant contact list and player knowledge.

I think it will be Stephen Wright, already at the club and doing his coaching badges with the welsh FA.

i noticed Matthew Jones has completed his A badge with FAW this year, thanked Carl Darlington (amongst the other tutors) in a twitter post

i dont think their wales careers overlapped, but could be a good up and coming coach to have as an assistant?

He's only just taken the Denbigh job if it's the one I'm thinking of.

He knows Carl through his work for the Racecourse Community Foundation.

no not that one.

Ex Wales international, Leeds + Leicester. had his career cut short by injuries and has done some BBC Wales tv punditry
