Nobody with a family or any kind of bills to pay would work for so little full time !
Are you really suggesting we paid Gary Mills £15,600 p.a. as assistant manager? People on apprenticeship where I work get more than that.

You also seem to know how much the new assistant manager is going to be paid. Perhaps you could share this or don’t you really have the facts to back up your claim.

As for the comment it’s taken too long to recruit the assistant I don’t agree. Recruitment is rarely a quick process in any line of employment. I do lots of recruitment and I prefer to wait to get the right person. Perhaps Ricketts is doing the same.

It’s all very worrying and is starting to feel very dithery once again.

No assistant, no goalkeeping coach and no sign of any more players.

Maybe we should shout out that we're in talks with X assistant manager or Y goalkeeper coach or Z players just to appease the less patient. You're smart enough to know there's plenty going on behind the scenes. This dithering phrase/term is dumb as shite. Players and staff we're interested in will be mulling over multiple offers from around the UK. It can mean families up-rooting, trying to sell a property, players being on holiday etc. It's not just recruiting someone to do a paper round. Modern day media has created this now, now, now mentality that isn't realistic. Things can happen fast in football but they can also take time. What exactly would Michael Oakes be doing this week and next as our keeping coach if he were still here? Sod all.

Might be an untrue rumour anyway but to me he seems highly qualified for the position.

Think they were already in the Premier League when Martinez took over as Wigan manager, but they did win the FA Cup together.

Gary mills (ladder version) was only part time. Comparing recruitment in real life to football is pointless. An assistant needs to be someone you can trust. Its not a case of flicking through cvs. You either have that person or you don't...or he has the person in mind but they don't fancy it or the pay isn't good enough.
If you were an up and coming manager would you not have had an assistant in mind ??

The assistant is done and dusted from what seems to be the case with several posters on here, just not being announced yet for whatever reason.

Not worth worrying about, its not as if we can do anything about it, same with the player recruitment. We just have to do the same as we do every time, trust the manager to get it right. Sometimes they do, sometimes they don't.
