Not sure why members would even consider voting against the proposal

To be fair to members who voted against, I’m not sure the board response mentioning inaccuracies in the proposal helped. Very glad it passed though!

Well indeed. I can’t imagine why anyone would vote against. There are still too many who don’t think about the needs of others. But still, I think this is a good sign that society is changing slowly but surely.

This and the fact they mentioned talks were already under way may have made people think it wasn't necessary to vote for action?
Fortunately my concerns over the tone of some of the resolution didn't prevent it from passing. As we see on here there are some who don't respond well to digs at the trust. Suggesting lack of action due to a lack of compassion maybe didn't help.
It got the 67% which is all that matters.

Don't think they were telling them to vote against the proposal though , never mind it passed which is the main thing

Excellent news Steve. I echo the earlier comments questioning why anyone felt the need to vote against the resolution; in an ideal world there would have been no need for a resolution in the first place!
A resounding vindication of the sterling work put in by all at DSA!

Don't think we must underestimate the importance of this DSA victory. Can't remember ( and my friend Inside Left may know) the last time a Resolution was passed when opposed.....or not supported .... by the WST board. The two-thirds majority rule is clearly a major factor , as opposed to Board proposals which just require a simple 51% majority.
Two conclusions I suggest:-
1 This is a MASSIVE vote for decency and common sense, and one of which WST members can rightly be proud.
2 A wake-up call for the WST board. Their collective judgement has been found wanting.

Please forgive my jubilation but chuffed particularly for my old mate WrexhamO .

As someone who is privy to the history of this issue,I don't think that the resolution proposer's suggestion of a possible "lack of compassion",was unwarranted [and it was only a suggestion!].

Indeed, the DSA only resorted to this resolution as a last resort.
