Re: Its all about money and we've got enough.
So you’re making a point that a sugar daddy wouldn’t work at Championship level, while admitting neither would the Trust. Is there any chance we could stick to realistic topics like promotion from he league we’re currently in?!

It’s about finding your level as a club. I still think that we are a Comfortable Div 2 club - Div 1 at a push. Despite that we had three seasons in the Championship, idont think that I will ever see us that high again. Spoke to a keen Shrewsbury fan in the week. We was upset that they had lost a really good player to Coventry (same league). The Shrews could not compete with the wages that newly promoted Coventry are offering. That’s reality. Coventry get three times the home gate, and that’s what make a club big and sustainable.
Wrexham get the some of the biggest crowds in the division, but the sugar daddy factor cuts in here. This balances all out. A fairly level playing field, which means that good management and coaching makes all the difference. We will if Sam measures up! |

Not necessarily. That implies that we want to remain in the National League. Nobody I speak to does despite implications by people on here assuming they know what people in the club think

Re: Its all about money and we've got enough.
It’s not about having (the new buzz word on RP,) a sugar daddy. What we need is someone in charge willing to make decisions that maybe won’t be popular, but will move us into the twenty first century. Our club needs to look to the future, and could do without dwelling on past successes. The current outlook is stagnant and needs fresh ideas.
The ground is a mess and needs either redeveloping or just knocking down with us moving elsewhere. It’s all well and good going on and on about how it’s the oldest international ground, but it’s something that needs addressing. |

Re: Its all about money and we've got enough.
Under the Trust model I can see Wrexham getting regular 6,000 crowds. That attendance combined with the TV money that filters down would make us a competitive league one club.
I think our chances of getting out of League One would be slimmer than our chances of getting out of the Conference now, but not unimaginable. From memory I think Gillingham did it with similar crowds and a not very flush Sugar Daddy. If we ever reached league one there would be calls for a Sugar Daddy. Hey ho. |
