We can only hope the agreement still stands. But if they are only building half of phase 2 they could argue that its not complete.

Please don't shoot me for this suggestion but would it be an opportunity to get the current stand demolished by the developers as contains asbestos and is deteriorating (health hazard to students?). The cost of demolishing and removing the materials would be significant to the club and would be a potential stumbling block in any future development. Clearly this would lead to us playing in a three sided stadium for a while but it would be a step closer to the dream of having a new stand at the kop end and would further highlight to outside entities the need to have the stand rebuilt.

To be honest its not a bad suggestion but whether developers would do that is probably the sticking point.

The old Kop will need to come down whatever happens.
