University buying flats, building Phase 2, and buying Kop land - RedPassion.co.uk

Glyndwr have confirmed they are buying the student flats this summer.

In acquiring Wrexham Village they will also be buying the land behind the Kop and appears to be the corner plot as well.

Phase 2 of the Wrexham Village development will be built, and will include 200 new student rooms.

There is 'no academic need' for the surplus Kop land, and will likely be sold off by the Uni in the future.

The Uni are keen to ensure that access rights to the Kop are retained.

A chance for the club to purchase an asset in the near to mid future, with the possibility of having income coming in during non match days.

'All development profits will be retained for the benefit of the Football Club'. that was from the owners of the flats was it not ?

Perhaps now that a profit will be realised from the sale of what was the clubs asssets the previous owners might keep their promise and make a handsome donation.

So what the uni is saying is that they are looking for the dickens garage plot to be bundled in with buying the flats but they'll look to sell it on as they have no intention of developing it in case they have to build a stand as well.

We don't need to buy the land necessarily. It may be prohibitively expensive to do so. We could instead seek to partner up with a sympathetic developer willing to build some sort of combined development.

Who is going to buy it to help the club? they will buy it because they wanted it.

Personally I think we should get a value and try to raise enough to buy it atleast, it’s imperative to the future development of the kop. If we could secure funding or the uni could we need a huge stand this could change the potential of any development.

I didn't think there was that much land behind the kop!!!
