What are you basing any of that on?

Periodisation is essential if you have a small squad. How many soft tissue injuries were picked up last season? How many players injured muscles during training?

A physio is a reactive measure whilst the sports science element and periodisation are proactive. Two completely different skill sets.

And yes, people with degrees working towards a masters normally relocate from one end of the country to the other for pence as you put it.
Nice response.

This is a sign of professionalism from the club as usual the cheap shot snipers come out to have a pop.
It'll be the price of pies next............zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz:)
Wonder if we will see us look any fitter than the part time teams we play against in the pub league since we haven't for the last 5 years or so.
I'm sure the happy clappers will reason that all the teams are now full time, with millions invested in fitness programmes etc zzzz
the way i see it.. only idiots think the Only people who are fit.. are professional athletes..

and those who have proper jobs are all unfit........

All well and good, but when three are suspended and 4 have impact injuries that you can't account for, are we go g to play with 10?
It can be useful to an extent, although you don't see the likes of Messi and Ronaldo missing many games.
It also goes out the window if they've not had the pre season required to get up to levels.
A physio will work with this kind of fella as part of a team if he has the skills.
I'm not convinced by it all in general. Most decent amateur runners will run 60-100 miles a week and race at the weekend after doing a full time job. Far in excess of a what a pro footballer does.
