Re: Former Players Association
An amazing connection involving so many people - considering the distance between the clubs.
My first match was in the late 60's as a young kid taken by my father. I remember sitting in the Yale Stand shortly after it was built. It was an end of season late spring evening kick off v Lincoln City which ended 0 - 0. When your a small kid the memories are so vivid, the colour of the pitch, the noise of the crowd, the singing - it was a beautiful evening but my overriding memory of that first game was the giant playing for Wrexham who appeared twice the size of all the other players - I was in awe from that moment - the player of course was the mighty giant Eddie May. Tony Beanland is a new one on me - does anyone recall his position and how long he played for us / appearances and what happened to him ? |

The Lincoln City home match which was the first game I saw was on 02 March 1970 with an attendance of 7,377. Yet I am convinced I watched it from the Yale Stand but that didn't open until 72. After gaining promotion we were in different leagues than Lincoln thereafter so it's not as if we played out two 0 - 0 home draws against them around that time - wont sleep tonight |
