Can't believe we are going to waste 85k on a youth system that has supplied no talent to the 1st team in years. Wouldnt that money be better spent on a striker? We don't even have a reserve team for these kids to develop in!!!

We have no protection anymore being non league, so lads can leave for nothing. However, a lot of clubs choose to pay compensation and we aren't talking token gesture sums either, they'll pay the going rate.

Yeah I saw the new rules but you suggested we'd let kids leave before without chasing up compensation which I didn't understand

We'll two posters who know more than me confirmed as much not long back. We were offered and didn't reply, slightly different to chasing.

The way we've used it since relegation is not viable. That doesn't mean it's not viable full stop. We've got out of it what we've put into it, i.e. very little.

People have accepted that a reserve team is just not possible pretty quickly too...

To summarise
1) Funding has been withdrawn from next season onwards
2) WST putting on £85k to make up the shortfall
3) we will get NO compensation for players moving to a EP3 (??) club
4) Youth team will be based at Lex and Morgan Llwyd while Colliers is being upgraded.

I hope I'm wrong and it'ss hard to understand the full implications from a few short tweets but none of this sounds good, it fact it sounds bloody awful and makes me question what is the point of having youth development while we're out of the football league.
EP3 clubs are English Premier league teams

I thought E3P covered all academies Category 1-4 not just premier league.

That's my understanding, but E3P is a tiered system with the Premier League Clubs and a few others in the highest tier
