The problem is that most of us get familiar with just a small group of names we know in the NL, when in reality managers will be looking at a much wider pool of players.

Thats the problem we have. We have to take a chance on some of the squad having had issues in the past. We dont have the money or status for some of the players we may fancy.
Best player I remember in the Conference was a crocked Mike Marsh ex Liverpool. Could only play at this level as he'd had an insurance payout and could no longer play in the football league. He still had the speed of thought and vision that allowed him to shine at Conference level.

personally i thought he did very well last pre-season in that role, unfortunately Keates didnt seem to play the same way and he got frozen out.

got to give the lad a chance, as he certainly hasnt had one yet

Surely we should be giving products of our academy like Leo Smith a chance, otherwise what is the point of having it? I hope he is given a proper shot at it this season
