Well yes it does to a certain degree.

If we have a 'Here we are proven goal scorer signs' then I think we would all expect a proven goal scorer. If we have 'Up and coming prospect' then we would be expecting someone that had potential but not proven at this level.

What is the purpose of describing Pyke as a 'cheeky signing' - is it impertinent or insolent in anyway? Is it bold?

What is the point of using this adjective to describe the signing - it may as well have been announced as 'fabulous'?

Well read what you're getting your knickers in a twist over, a signing announcement...it's embarrassing. Constantly poking digs at people who you'd call "unprofessional" if they defended anything they did. Suggest it's not me who needs to do the growing up.

if the c on the word cheeky was in capitals, then i would have read it as Cheek signing. as it stands it is an unfortunate turn of phrase and it was meant as, oh look we are on holiday but we have a surprise, heres a cheeky one for you all

given the frothers thinking that we are going to be signing him media team should have been aware but it isnt the end of the world. people really need to get off the media teams back sometimes.
