So did Holman and he's a free agent at the moment isn't he?

Id drive to get him. If fit, probably the best forward at this level, although i think hes getting on a bit now.

Since when has 28 been to old? Footballers hit their peak at 27/28 the injury if he has recovered or isn't long term might be worth a trial or 6 month contract, but what do we know let's leave it to the professionals.

My mistake, I thought he was older! He's had injuries I think.

Diarra the really tall black centre back who has been at Barrow for some time has left the sinking ship - and joined Dover. Always thought he was a rock for Barrow and a dangerous threat at set pieces.

Big Mike v Diarra - first match of the season - heavyweight clash !

13 goals in 27 and 34 in 70 at this level. If MFT is going to lead the line then Cheek would be a good option behind him.

2 issues for me - location for the player - is he what Sam is looking for?

Playing just 1 striker up front in an isolated position has it's own problems - it almost becomes specialist and at the moment big Mike looks the only striker we have who can lead the line - who will take over if he becomes unavailable ?
Sometimes a striker comes up against a centre back or even two who perhaps are too dominant for them and mark them out of the game - playing 3 strikers would allow for them to interchange - we used to see this with the likes of Wright, Speight, Pogba and other teams - it confuses the hell out of the opposition and allows strikers with different attributes to expose weaknesses in defenders. Playing one lone man becomes one dimensional - the players behind him need to do a lot of leg work to fully support him.

Perhaps next week 'if' we make the 2 - 3 further signings as indicated by Ricketts - things will look a bit better.

I would take Cheek in a heartbeat if we can land him.

I am hearing off some Portugeezers that there might be another cheeky signing next week.

Does't Cheek still have a year left of a 2 yr contract at D+R? He's also played all his soccer down south.
Agree with RL that he'd be a great addition if we can land him, and D+R are short of cash.
