I'm willing to give the lad a chance as he sounds like he could be a good prospect.

However,

A two year deal is a big gamble. He could come good under the right coaching and be an absolute gem. Or he could flare brightly for a bit and then be a flop. One year would surely have been enough, with the option to extend in January?

The club have shot themselves in the foot with the PR buildup. Just announce it, we don't need the hype.

There had better be some more "well known" signings coming soon or the atmosphere is not going to be nice here on RP!

Maybe he’ll turn out to be decent. But this is yet another desperately underwhelming sign from the club this season.

By what possible measure is this lad a league quality signing if he was loaned out from Guiseley and scored 6 goals last year.

Ricketts / the club PR have been absolutely tone deaf to fan’s concerns this summer after last season fizzled out. Hyping this signing up (when they will know full well what fans are saying on Red Passion) is a massive own goal. Not to mention the own goals over the Bangor game, not communicating that Lex would only be 60 minutes, our first home friendly in years being vs Forest Green.

Ricketts is either:
A. Woefully out of his depth
B. Full of shit

Either way, the signs are not good and I am feeling desperately disappointed as are many other fans who have dug deep for the build the budget fund.

I would have reserved judgement, had the club not been ridiculous enough to build up everyone's expectations. As always, they don't seem to do PR very well. Oh and by the way, just because people are expressing they are underwhelmed by a signing doesn't mean they are 'crying'. This is a fans message board, where expressing opinions is in fact encouraged, whether you agree with them or not.
