Macclesfield signed Scott Wilson and Tyrone Marsh last season, and both had worse records that Fondop-Talom. Give the lad a chance.

Congratulations on having a mate! Everyone here has a mate who is a season ticket holder at a club we sign players off.

Yet, in Keates' opinion, we had enough cash to sign Andy Cook.

The more I've researched Mike Fondop, the more I like the look of this lad. I can't remember the last time we had a player who got us off our seats with exitment. He is capable of doing that. He has nice skills and he is very direct. I like the way he holds the ball up and plays it back to the midfield and runs behind. This could be nightmare for defenders, especially if we have a couple of good attacking threats either side of him.

I can't wait to see him play for us. All the negative posters will eat their world come the start of the season.

But we didn't sign cook

You can't use a good player we didn't sign as evidence we can afford good players.

Come on Kruxy, follow the thread...

Haruki said, "This is just a suspicion but I think our budget is not good enough to get the top top strikers. I think maybe Keates realised that so he saw building a solid team to grind out 1-0's as his best chance of sneaking into the playoffs".

I have merely pointed out that Keates didn't believe that as he tried to sign Andy Cook. If Keates believed we couldn't afford him, he wouldn't have tried to sign him.

PS - we didn't sign Cook because Tranmere refused to sell him to us not because we couldn't afford to pay him.

Haruki is right, our budget isn't enough to sign the top strikers. Hence we didn't sign cook.

I simply do not believe that we had enough money to not only pay the wages of the best striker in the league, but to pay a transfer fee too. If that was truly the case, then we would have ended up with a really good striker as second choice, and not Scott Boden.
