Default Re: Bangor friendly - Director response to questions

I have thought long and hard about attending this friendly, as I work around Bangor quite often. I am not going - rather spend my dosh in Telford.

I'm sure that you'll have read this quote in yesterday's Post:

"Former Chester City player and chairman Stephen Vaughan Jr, currently holds the role of director of football at Bangor and told a fans forum in May that the club had no creditors and that they were up to date with HMRC, VAT and PAYE and that all wages to players and staff had been paid in full.

It comes as absolutely no surprise that Bangor are heading in the same direction as Barrow, Chester & Widnes Vikings did before.

Three things stand out.

Why, given their past and criminal convictions did Bangor ever get involved with Vaughan Promotions ?

How do the football authorities allow such people to get involved with on clubs ? well, partly by bringing another member of the family in to take control - similar to a disqualified pub landlord who is not allowed to hold a licence - transfer it to the wife.

Why, given our own past do some of our supporters still not see that attending this match will be supporting none other than Vaughan Promotions including the hierarchy at our club for ever agreeing to it in the first place or do we imitate Neville Chamberlain and bury our heads and pretend it's not happening (as per directors response). Some have quoted Hamilton, Gutterman and the likes stating clubs may have refused to play us during their time here - this is different - read up on the Vaughan empire on Wikipedia if your still not convinced.

Very sad for the Bangor City fanbase but you have to be careful who you get into bed with - until they distance themselves from the Vaughan's, given their previous history, the circumstances are likely to get much worse - I hope they are successful in their court bid to access the clubs full accounts - that would be a start.

Director of football, would have no involvement in the "day to day" running of the club. Stephan Vaughan, does slip up a little, he says he is in the photograph as a sponsor of the club...but he allegedly has no links to the company sponsoring the club VSM.
This is a crazy "friendly". The WST should have over-ruled the club board and vetoed the fixture.

A local company are chasing them now for a debt of £1,850 for alcohol and soft drinks. Their ignoring his requests for payment and is now threatening legal action against them.

So ripping off the local community as well. No doubt these won’t be the only people owed money.
