Aside from this is Pyke a creator ,sets them up ,stretches defences player ? Yet
Does anyone know ? He may do some of that as a striker
I didn't say Cook was a viable target, but my point was you seemed to have this idea that signing a youth player from a top flight club would be better than a pub player from this league. But if anything signing a proven goal scorer at this level makes more sense?

And he's been signed as a striker according to Twitter, so I think it is fair to assume he has been signed to score goals. And even if he has been signed to do those things, we still haven't signed someone who we know will take those chances he may create.

How many full times did we release last season?
Considering we have been promised a small squad of quality I would hope Pyke is squad filler. But I'm getting more concerned that this isn't the case.

Apologies, I didn't realise that he was our final signing this summer. In that case it is worrying that we've spent all our budget on 3 players.

Alternatively I suppose you could argue that Ricketts had the chance to bring a young, pacy striker in for nothing while he continues to look for players to bolster the squad.

I guess we'll never know. Unless we wait and see of course, but why do that when you can a meltdown instead.

I didn't say that he was our final signing merely raised the point that we released several full time high earning players last season which would have freed up a good chunk of money. Add to this high season ticket sales and BTB. TBH if we were bringing in a youth striker I would have rather had the one we had on loan last season for 10 games. Can't remember his name but he looked lively and caused trouble but didn't score. I can't even remember Pyke playing for us.

As for having a meltdown well all I can say is we where promised quality signings. On paper I think the midfield is stronger but upfront we are still seriously lacking a goal threat. If Ricketts does have funds and brings and manages to get someone like Cheek in then fair enough. As it stands though if that's our front line for the season then we will struggle again

Doubt he’s costing nothing for a whole season loan. It’s a huge risk because he’s scored zero goals so far in his career
