That's my understanding. Red shirts, white shorts from 1939 on although they wore red and white for a couple of years in the early 1920's amidst the blue and white.

We have had a blue away kit (or 3rd kit) whilst we have been in the conference. I have it in my drawer.

It was a significant change to switch from blue to red - does anyone know the reasoning behind it ? Perhaps we could have been known as the Blue tits before we emerged as Robins ! Lol.

Also recall the two tone dark blue / Sky blue away shirt with all dark blue shorts - not sure if we played in it very often.

My favourite ever away strip was our 3rd strip / cup strip back in 77/78.

Adidas, white top, red trim, black shorts, red trim, white socks, red trim.

We wore it in all those memorable games.

Here it is v Bristol City. Then in the 1st Division (Premiership) Wrexham 3rd division, two leagues below. A cracker of a match for those who weren't there

4 - 4.

Was it down to an investor from the Far East? My mate in Cardiff tells me Red kits sell better abroad 😂
