Deverdics could be a major asset in the middle of that 3 for me. Natural position was brilliant for Dover there, Deverdics in front of Young & Summerfield looks good to be, I Just hope we add some more quality to the 2 wide of the 3 and the 1 up top

I'm hoping this formation will be 433, rather than the wide men slipping back into a 451 and not leave the big man isolated.

Where are we in terms of the squad? I’ve given too much time recently to the World Cup!

Keepers - Dibble, Lainton

Defenders - Roberts, Carrington, Smith, Pearson, Jennings

Midfielders - Wright, Summerfield, Young, Deverdics, Rutherford, Smith

Attackers - Holroyd, MFT, Pyke

By my reckoning, I’d say we’re 3 “proper” players short.

Agree, I think it is only going to be youth though unfortunately.

Bit puzzled by the sudden change in formation from SR to a 451 from 4231.
Regardless of playing Wright as a makeshift CB surely the formation has to be Young & Summerfield looking to play and dominate around the centre circle which is basically playing a higher formation than having Wedgbury as a 3rd CB.

Then 3 in front of these 2 and MTF as the spearhead for this 4 man attack.

Playing Carra as part of a 5 man midfield is just going to invite other teams onto us and we know from last season that even the teams at the bottom makes us look poor when it comes to retaining the ball.

If were going to use this formation then at least give it a go for 10 games and revert to a plan B if we need to manage a game better in the 2nd half.

To be honest Pagl looking at sats game they outplayed us at times and we could of played six across the midfield and not coped, the truth is they cut us open time and time again at ease with through balls between Manny and Roberts then Akil and Jenno. It happened to many times last season even with Pearson playing Aldershot springs to mind, teams with pace up front hurt us time and time again as we give possession away to easy as we have no quality in midfield to retain the ball then make things happen for our front players (if we had any hahaha). Watching that performance sat I really do fear for us this season if this is what we start the season with which is why I understand other peoples worries at the moment but hey ho lets see what the next week or so brings its getting close to the 4th now.
