See this advertised on WAFC website. Assume this vacancy has arisen since the board elections just over 2 weeks ago? Suggest easiest , and most democratic , solution would be to co-opt the candidate with the next most votes at the AGM.

Not the most obvious of solutions. The WST board are looking for someone to focus on the community work. This might not be what the next most voted for candidate wanted to do based on what they said in their candidate statement.

Names go before the existing elected WST board members for approval and it requires two thirds support from the board. As for specialism - the board will look at that but it is only 'may' have specialist interest not 'must' have.
As the WST board think itself weak in that area perhaps its wise that they seek someone keen to try and develop Community links.
Names to be taken from those who missed out does seem the obvious as 1926 suggested as it was they who made the effort to put their names forward in the first place but committees don't always follow the obvious.

PS can someone tell me what the 'cultural' aspect of the club means / entails ?
