Default DSA is seeking Advertising Partners

Hi All,

We have some advertising space to sell and are looking for interested partners, who would like to associate themselves with our drive to improve accessibility at the Racecourse.

We have space along the front of platform that would suit one or two boards and we also have space above the executive box, currently that has 2 boards, but we would be happy to resell to one or 2 partners.

Should this advertisement not be done through Geoff and the Commercial department at the club? It seems ill thought out to me that we have different bodies selling the same product at our club as this could lead to differing messages and the potential for sponsors paying different prices for what is the same product.
I have an advert board at the ground which has been paid for in full year on year since the WST took control of the club, if i found out another company had come in and got the same product for say £500 cheaper by going via the DSA rather than the club i won't be too happy about it.
We have appointed a professional to run all commercial activities at the club so I don't see why some areas of the ground are now outside his control. If a sponsor contacted the DSA and they sold them an advert space maybe Geoff may have been able to talk them up into a bigger sponsorship package or into adding match sponsorship etc and this opportunity shouldn't be lost

Support what you are trying to do but shouldn't this be a club decision not just Geoff ? Do you have a schedule of how much each board will cost and the sizes please ?

This was a decision that goes back to Don Birchams time

We check each year so as to be sure the club is happy. If the commercial manager says yes then that is surely a club decision.

Drop us an email at wxmdsa@gmail.com and we will come back to you on prices and options.

Think this is a great idea and opportunity for partners who wish to associate themselves with the cultural push to improve accessibility for all at the Racecourse.

It would seem logical that those type of sponsors/ partners would find the DSA committee particularly knowledge of this subject. 'Accessibility and Inclusivity at football grounds.' And wish to discuss any advertising and strategic association with the DSA in the first instance.

I don't know the board prices, but am sure if Geoff Scott has given his (clubs) permission then this will have been thought thought by both parties.

The product might not be exactly the same. It is often customary in advertising to have scaled pricing depending upon association, placement and positioning. So although it is still a board material and might be the same size, if it is in a more prominent position and more easily viewed/noticed by the general public it will be at a higher price point.

That approach is no difference than seat prices in sports stadia or concert arenas being scaled according to the best view.

I don't know if the club do scale board prices, and am just referring to the general advertising industry.

Why do people question everything the DSA want to do?

They have asked for help, and people say do the club know about this.

Our boards our unique in position. Having said that we sought guidance from Geoff on price. We don't want to be taking advertising at the club's expense.
