Will football under its present leagues still exist? When you see a club like Aston Villa deep in the proverbial I think the game will implode. The greed at the top is killing the teams in the middle and below, transfer fees. Contracts, agents fees Johnny foreigner managers etc it will all end in tears well before then.

As rightly pointed out our main fanbase are old buggers like myself, the longer we remain a struggling non league side living hand to mouth the harder it will get.

As pointed out it's very unfair the criticism the media team get the world has changed a lot in this new millennium kids and older teenagers/20s/30s/ even 40s are living their lives through social media kind of zombieesque they don't read papers or watch the news anymore it's all on their phone they even text eachother when sat together. So simply put you have to cater for them #rules

But also away from the elite premier teams kids are not like when us older one's started watching football they have so many other interests mainly computer based you don't see kids playing football in the streets anymore, I see mum's dad's with their kids at matches & the kids are bored either running up and down the gangways or playing on phones games etc not in the least bit interested in the game in football shirts their parents bought them, I've been there took my kids when young and the kids were moaning they were bored, they are grown up now and absolutely no interest in the game.

Yes I see worrying times ahead for lower league clubs like ourselves, it's a richmans plaything now.

It's only a matter of time before the extremely wealthy top premier sides form a European super league with the likes of RM Barcelona, juventus. Bayern etc.

Yes I think it's a ticking timebomb for teams in the_ lower league's imho.

A good but unfortunate summary of where the game may well end up.

Engaging youngsters with all of the modern trappings is difficult, to much choice! by at least attempting to get with it in terms of social interaction I guess the club are at least trying....

sobering thought 2070 and football not as we know it.....but the club has survived more change than most over the decades........onto the next challenge....short term sustainable league football, long term survival!

you are correct the bigger teams will always with global marketing the way it is keep on getting bigger and richer while the smaller scrap around.......back to the % and fine margins......gaining those tiny advanatges you can

Haha Pagl yes I did to more interested in other clubs scores but if you go to the cinema you see them on their phones also, I sometimes wonder how they would survive in the day's where if you had a housephone you were well off.

If you were slagging off Boden you must have spent a fortune on extra data.

Huge amounts of data. Haven't used so much since Brett Ormerod played for us.

I'd snatch your hand off if offered Ormerod now, mind.

This thread has derailed slightly. Though not surprising!

To avoid any misunderstandings.... On my behalf, I value the Media team and think they do a great job as does every other person who volunteers for our club and goes the extra mile. They keep our club alive.

Just as all the wrexham fans keep our club alive by buying match tickets, buying merchandise and contributing to fundraising and also all the WST members who pay annual subscription fees. This income and volunteering is vital to our club.

I do feel the brand element is important to raising money. This money feeds into the club and helps to pay for the players we need/want/desire. Our clubs ethos is also very important. The way we play. And getting all those components right is vital to get our club progressing with promotion, rather than flatlining and being stuck in the same league for 12 years.

Our fans have a huge collective knowledge base and I feel they should contribute to the branding in the same way they contribute to choosing the kit. By adopting the most popular vote.

Wales Together Stronger was fortuitous, because the team played exceptionally well and beyond expectations. No one could have really foreseen we would get to the semi finals, even with Bale and Ramsey in the team. The tagline did become powerful as the competition progressed, and the fans contributed massively to that. As an aside it was an English advertising guy who asked the Welsh Fa board what the welsh words were on the badge and what it meant. They didn't know so he looked it up and then suggested it be translated into English as Together Stronger.

I don't think we should be just trying to do what Wales did, with similar taglines just because we are a Welsh club.

I think we should do whats right for Wrexham and do it leading from the front.

By letting the fans decide.

Rings true with me had season tickets for myself and two boys 12 and 14 for a couple of seasons now. Not renewed. They would rather do other things. Mind you the football hasn't helped. Will still be a regular but can't justify season tickets anymore.

I think youngsters should be encouraged to take up their own sports. Better for their long term health and more sociable . They can always go to The Racecourse when they are older.
